Below are examples of the TITANIUM II Series airbrush color options which you can add starting at $40.  We now use a unique blend of resins that yields an ultra-white uv stabilized aesthetic, so airbrushing is not necessary, but is still available as an add-on.

 

Proxy epoxy Titanium II Construction includes the following:

1 >> proxy epoxy composite :::

High Impact Hybrid Foam Core // [a lightweight virgin bead foam that yields a higher compression strength & has very limited water absorption if dinged & is not so light that itcauses unwanted chattering buoyancy]

S-Glass // S-glass is the highest-grade fiberglass available and will make any board significantly stronger. It is available in 4oz. and 6oz.

Hybrid/Epoxy resins // engineered for maximum break strength, as well as a “loaded” rebound response characteristic, we use a

Three custom glassing options:

  • teamlite - ultralight, crazy flex, ultimate performance, 2-3 x stronger than a poly
  • middleweight – best strength to weight ratio, 3-5+ x stronger than a poly
  • super-duty - indestructo, 5+ x stronger than pretty much any board out there

 

2 >> hybrid carbon/kevlar mesh

Our latest handmade composite technology, the ‘Titanium II’ utilizes polymer engineered stringers on the perimeter of the board or down the center; this material is made of a shatter resistant matrix that is stronger than wood, and capable of flexing back on itself without breaking. (We are offering the parabolics in wood or polymer) It provides an unparalleled positive torque to the board while at the same time increasing break strength.

A hybrid carbon/ kevlar mesh acts as a support underneath the glass. The mesh allows for the use of single layers of glass laminate to each side of the board; equal layers of glass to the deck and bottom panels creates a whole new torsion of synergy in the boards’ flex characteristic. With a ‘balanced’ lamination there is an increased ability to rebound more efficiently as each side ‘plays’ off of the other ….this let’s you blast through maneuvers with more drive and responsiveness. The curved mesh panels that flare out in the nose and tail areas of the board create a strategic flex pattern; with the middle being stiffer and the ends flexing more as you get further towards the nose and tail. Kinda like how a snowboard or ski will warp and flex more on the ends, but instead of snow, we are applying the concept to hydrodynamic flex. This means drivier on rail bottom turns and whippier fins and tails in the lip.

The epoxy core of the boards is specifically fabricated to yield a higher compression strength, memory, and less water absorption than typical eps. The finished boards are very light and responsive, three to five times stronger than a standard poly board, and they keep their ‘life’ much longer than the poly’s.

The carbon used to reinforce the rail lap matrix is woven in a specific pattern/gauge ideally suite for maximum performance & strength.

4 >> composite stringer(s) ::: [optional]

The composite stringers are a proprietary material construction from I guy I met in the aerospace industry. Basically, they are very strong, flexy and shatter resistant. So, a composite center stringer for instance will behave flexwise like a board that has no stringer at all i.e. very springy and lively and slingshotty through turns and maneuvers. Strengthwise, the stringers will warp even all the way back on themselves without shattering as wood would….so the long and short of it is that they are stronger than wood, but with a much better flex rebound characteristic that provides higher performance for all skill levels of surfers. The composite parabolics have a very similar flex characteristic – maybe a touch more whippy in performance compared to the center composite, and provide maybe just a touch more break strength to the board. The composite parabolics are a gnarly process for me to cut and shape so I have been kinda trying to steer people away from them unless they really want them….then I’ll do them…. the parabolic composites work insane, but I have to charge a lot more for them since it takes me almost three times as long to shape the boards that have ‘em.

Proxy composite care & ding repair

Care for your Proxy surfboard simply consists of keeping it watertight; ie. If you do get a ding, just allow it to dry out and then repair it with epoxy resin, or if you take it to a shop to repair, make sure you let them know to use epoxy resin. That’s it. Also, use the same common sense care you would for a polyester board, just don’t leave it laying in the sun. If you have any questions, let us know.
